History

Since 1896…

Our history dates back over 100 years; in 1895 Peek, Winch and Todd was incorporated as a wholesale grocery and retail outlet and by 1972 was quoted on the London Stock Exchange. With the move from wholesale grocery and retail to electronics taking place in the mid 1980s, the company was registered as Peek Traffic Ltd in 1980.

 

Following the acquisitions of Sarasota (1987), Weighwrite (1988) and GK Instruments (1989), the business continued to grow through further acquisitions, including the traffic businesses of Ferranti, GEC-Marconi and Elequip through the 1990s.

 

Since then we have been operating in the Urban and Inter Urban markets, supplying transport technology solutions and maintenance services across the UK and overseas.

 

In April 2007, Peek was acquired by Imtech N.V. and now forms part of the Imtech Traffic and Infra division.
